Björn Dunkerbeck sails for Spain. He was the overall world champion every year from 1988 to 1999, and with 42 PWA world titles he holds the record for the tour. Seven of those are wave titles, won in 1990, from 1992 to 1995, in 1999 and in 2001, which Guinness World Records lists as the record for PWA wave world titles. Counting the World Cup’s first seasons too, Robby Naish also won seven, four of them between 1983 and 1987. Dunkerbeck was also freestyle world champion in 1998 and speed world champion in 1994.
