Gisela Pulido, KPWT freestyle world champion, 4 November 2004
Gisela Pulido was born on 14 January 1994 in Premià de Mar, Spain. On 4 November 2004 she won the freestyle world title of the KPWT world tour. According to Guinness World Records she was 10 years and 294 days old, the youngest female kitesurfing world champion. One kite magazine gives her age as eleven.
It was the first of many titles. She won the KPWT freestyle title again in 2005, 2006 and 2009, and the freestyle title of the rival PKRA tour in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013. Her first PKRA title came on 26 August 2007, when she was 13. In 2010 she also took the PKRA wave title.
Her title came only six years after the first kiteboarding world championship on Maui, in a sport young enough for a ten-year-old to beat the adults.
