Nia Suardiaz, 2024: surf-freestyle, freefly-slalom and big air
In July 2023, at the first big-air world championship on Gran Canaria, Nia Suardiaz finished second. A year later she won almost everything.
In 2024, still only 17 and based in Tarifa, she took the surf-freestyle and freefly-slalom world titles, making it back-to-back double world titles, and won the big-air title at the one-off world championship on Gran Canaria in July. Three disciplines, three world titles, in one season. She also won her first wave event, although the wave title that year went to Elena Moreno.
In March 2025, at Ponta Preta on Cape Verde, she took the wave world title as well, her first in that discipline. By December 2025, aged 18, she was described as a seven-time world champion.
Her titles span every kind of wing competition on the tour: jumping, tricks, racing and riding waves.
